Beech architects have submitted planning submission for designs for a highly energy efficient 6 bedroom family house set within extensive grounds. The scheme comprises the demolition of a bungalow with the proposed replacement house, a 4 bay cartlodge structure with granny annexe accommodation over, swimming pool, private walled gardens and extensive landscaping to the grounds using native planting.
The house design is based on the traditional Suffolk longhouse format and uses a cranked plan arrangement to reduce the visual impact of the building within the landscape by creating foreshortening of each elevation. The design maximises the stunning views of the surrounding countryside using large glazed openings combined with concealed balconies. The façade is enriched with decorative brick detailing and cladding elements.
The house will be highly energy efficient using sustainable technologies and design approach such as solar hot water system, heat recovery systems, air source heat pump, photovoltaic panels and highly insulated structure reducing heat emission and minimizing fuel consumption.
