This barn conversion project occupies a beautiful secluded setting within the Suffolk countryside.
The existing structure was a simple 3 sided open range of structures previously forming part of a much larger collection of agricultural buildings which had long since been removed. Despite the limited amount of remaining fabric the site potential could be seen to create a fantastic family home.
Beech Architects worked with the client on this self-build project from the design through to construction and completion of the build.
The building uses recycled and pre-loved materials including the use of former scaffolding boards for internal wall linings and copper piping for stair handrails. The project has featured in the interiors publication ‘Reclaim’ magazine.
