Redevelopment and extension, Egerton Road, Nottingham

A dramatic redevelopment of a dilapidated 1960’s house for Enigma developments to provide a 210m² extension to an existing 200m² 1960’s shell. This was achieved by extending to the Northern side of the property to create a new large kitchen/ dining and family space with garden room that opens out through a movable glass wall to the garden.

The roof was also removed and replaced with a steeper pitch to provide a further 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in this space. An impressive 3 storey feature hall stair links the 3 floors with doubled up rooflights above. Overall this creates a contemporary 6 bedroom home with 4 reception rooms. It features high levels of insulation, efficient underfloor heating and low energy LED lighting throughout.

The existing 1960’s walls are covered with an insulated render to improve thermal efficiency and also appearance.
